We will likely be cancelling the event since the event organizers live in counties that are under travel restrictions. We may not officially cancel; the event until 3/27, just in case things change - which is unlikely.
If the GGLC cancels the event we will refund your track day fees. If the track or government cancels the event then we will only refund your fees only if the track refunds us. Fees paid for club membership/renewal are not refundable.
BELOW IS THE ORIGNAL AD FOR THE EVENT.
We will have hand sanitizer available at sign up and will practice appropriate social distancing including a total ban on random kissing of strangers and any type of partner dancing or erotic massage. Since we’re running the 5-mile layout the West paddock will also be available so each crew should be able to park hundreds of feet apart if they choose.
Specifically, here are the important virus related items for this event.
• GGLC will have hand sanitizer available at sign up. Our staff will be using it and you must too. We may eliminate on-site registration completely with waivers signed online in advance.
• Any participant that has been exposed to COVID-19, or is not feeling well and/or is suspicious that they have symptoms, is not allowed to attend.
• If you become ill during the event you must report this to a Trackday organizer and separate yourself from others.
• If you are a first time track driver and registered as a beginner we require an experienced "coach" to ride with you. We will not supply coaches for this event. If you have a personal friend who is an experienced driver and would like to coach you, contact us before then event to set it up. If you don't have anyone to coach you then you will not be allowed at this event and we will refund your payment. You must let us know in advance if you want a refund.
• Driver’s meeting will be outdoors and everyone should remain 6’ away from others during the meeting. We may have no in-person driver's meeting and elect to conduct it over the PA system instead.
• Every group or individual should pit at least a couple car spaces away from each other. People should park in groups of 5 peole or less ands not socialize between groups
• Each participant must follow the recommended health guidelines including maintaining 6 feet distance between individuals and/or groups, no hand shake greetings, etc.
• The GGLC has been assured that sanitation services at the track is well above the normal standard, with more frequent cleaning and additional sterilization as needed.
• GGLC will not supply loaner helmets.
• We will not be supplying our usual snacks, coffee, drinks or treats. You’re on your own for this one.
Refund Policy:
If we decide to cancel the event we will offer you a full refund. If the track or the government cancels the event then we will refund you only if the track refunds us.

We are almost certainly going to lose $5,000-6,000 on this event since only 35 people have signed up with a break-even of about 65-70, but you can help! If you talk a buddy into
joining we’ll give him a $50 discount that he can split with you or, keep for himself ‘cuz he’s not really your friend and only using you for the discount. Either way, to get in on this deal, one of you should register first and then let us know who your buddy is that's going to sign up and he/she will get the deal. You can invite an unlimited number of people and each one will get the discount. If you are already registered for the event you can invite friends and enjoy this discount as well. This deal will be available til at least 3/23. It may or may not be extended after that date depending on circumstances.
Good news is that attendance will be very low so plenty of wide open track to have fun on.

Come join the Golden Gate Lotus Club for this open track event at Thunderhill Raceway Park on Monday, March 30, 2020.
All types of cars are welcome at our events. We typically have about 20 Lotus cars and the remainder is an array of different brands.
Price is $210 for members and $230 for non-members. You can become a GGLC member for $25 when you register and take the member discount immediately.
This event will be divided into 2 different groups on track and will switch every 30 minutes. Open Passing Group for experienced drivers with 15+ track days/racing experience or equivalent and Restricted Passing Group for drivers with 0-14 track days experience. Each group will get seven 30 minute sessions. Sign-up for whichever group is appropriate for your experience level. If you sign up for a particular group and decide at the track that you are not comfortable, then ask a GGLC official to switch groups, we can usually accommodate this.
Open wheeled cars will only be allowed in the Open Passing Group.
We have 3-4 openings for Beginner drivers (zero days experience) who will receive 1-on-1 coaching from an experienced driver. Beginner drivers will run in the Restricted Passing Group.
At this event we will run the 5-mile, 27 turn track in the standard counter clockwise direction WITH THE BYPASS ON THE EAST SIDE.
This is a March event. The weather should be perfect for a track day so it is suggested that you enter early to ensure a spot.
We will run the event run rain or shine. Cancellations before 5/15/2020 will receive a credit for a future track day which will be good for one year from the cancellation date. Cancellations after 5/15/2020 will receive a credit ONLY if the event sells out.
We will not conduct a tech inspection on your car. You are solely responsible for the safety of your car.
We price our events as low as possible with the intent of breaking-even for the season. Be aware that additonal charges we incur for incidents such as major oil loss/track cleanup, damage to crash barriers, etc., may be passed on to the responsible (or irresponsible) driver.
Open top cars MUST have a roll bar that attaches at four locations on the body/chassis. Decorative, or "Style Bars" are not allowed. Factory installed roll-over protection including pop-up bars are allowed. Drivers of open top cars must wear eye protection.
Passengers are allowed but must be at least 18 years old.
All cars must have numbers on both sides for Identification. Pick any number. Digits must be 6” tall minimum.
